iSpace & Junior Common Room Design
St Wilfrid’s Church of England Academy is a large consistently high attaining co-educational day school and sixth form providing a faith-led education for 11 to 18 year olds living in the Diocese of Blackburn.
Xpressive Interiors were commissioned to undertake a design study to see if an IMAC, common room & immersive learning space could be fitted into a poorly utilised area.
Following a site survey and production of detailed existing drawings a full brief was taken from the client including visits to other immersive learning spaces in the area.
Presentation drawings and elevations were produced together with mood boards and samples to obtain customer sign-off, this was followed by full working drawings for all of the bespoke furniture items.
Detailed drawings were then produced for the partitions, ceilings, lighting, power/date and flooring.
Xpressive Interiors Ltd also produced drawings for building control approval. The school now have an amazing facility that is the envy of other schools in the region.
Thank you for the very positive representation of St Wilfrid's CE Academy on your new website.
Your modest account of your work does not do justice to the part you have played in transforming not only the physical space but the learning opportunities for both students and staff in my care (& beyond)! It is difficult to explain exactly what the space now brings and is best captured on the faces of students and visitors to the Academy, (there is something special about that).
The space at the centre of the Academy is fresh, vibrant, enthusiastically used by all and has already influenced dramatic changes in learning and teaching. We have been able to welcome year 6s over the past few days who are excited about what learning can be like & eager to make full use of the space when they join us later in the year. Equally a number of our CE primary schools are enjoying working with us and making use of the space you have created.
I can not thank you enough for sticking with us as we tried to articulate what we wanted only for you to take the ideas away & create such an amazing space; you more than delivered!
Equally looking forward to the changes you will bring to our Sixth Form over the summer.
With sincere thanks,
